School of Law

The school has 27 faculty members, including 7 professors, 8 associate professors and 12 lecturers or assistant lecturers. Among them 4 obtain doctorate degree and 23 own master degree. Great achievements have been made in subject and discipline construction, such as Provincial Excellent Course “Civil and Commercial Law” and “Wanke Experimental Class” based on the collaboration with the company “Wanke Property”. Teaching facilities are comprehensive, with legal aid center, multi-functional moot court, mock interview room, SYB entrepreneurship training center and reading rooms. Guided by the “people-oriented” educational philosophy, the school has outstanding performance in education and teaching, pursuing excellence and being motivated by innovation. Students won prizes of provincial moot-court contest in consecutive three years, in which there is a second group prize and Best Organization Award in 2015. Students also participate in “Challenging Cup” Entrepreneurship Contest and various kinds of technological production contests in Hunan Province and many of them won the first and second prizes. Meanwhile, the school adopts market-oriented employment policy, scientifically organizes and comprehensively supports graduates’ employment, laying stress on the “three examinations” (i.e. National Entrance Examination for Postgraduate, National Judicial Examination, and Civil Service Examination). As a result, the number of graduates who have passed the “three examinations” is increasing year by year. The postgraduate admission rate, the pass rate of civil service examination at different levels and the judicial-examination pass rate are 29.6, 37.22% and 45respectively.
